The OPT-SFM1 Ball Mill is a versatile bench-top planetary ball mill engineered for efficient material mixing, fine grinding, and small-scale production of advanced materials. The system operates with four grinding jars mounted on a rotating plate. As the main plate rotates, each jar performs a counter-directional planetary motion, generating high-energy impacts between the grinding balls and the sample. This dynamic movement enables rapid size reduction and homogeneous mixing, supporting both dry and wet grinding processes. Depending on material properties and milling conditions, particle sizes can be reduced down to approximately 0.1 micron.

Equipped with variable speed control, the OPT-SFM1 allows precise adjustment of both the main plate rotation (up to 290 rpm) and jar rotation (up to 580 rpm). A digital display provides real-time monitoring of speed, while programmable timers enable automated operation with adjustable milling durations and directional changes.

The unit comes standard with four nylon jars and zirconia grinding balls, ensuring compatibility with a wide range of materials. Optional jars, including vacuum-compatible configurations, allow grinding under inert gas or vacuum conditions, expanding its application flexibility. Lock clamps ensure safe and secure jar positioning during operation.
